6 - The Blog Sub-menu
When you click on the ‘Add or Edit a blog entry’ link, a new sub-menu appears under the main Rockfax logo in the top left of the screen. This menu allows you to do many useful things to your blog.
ADMIN - The base page from where you can add or edit blog entries, plus review your recent entries. The Incoming Links activity listtends to show which blog aggregation sites have picked up on your blog.
WRITE - The standard write a blog entry page. The sub-sub-menu on this page allows you to switch between a normal blog entry, or a ‘Page’ - a permanent page which appears on the right-hand side bar of your blog (this Help page is an example).
MANAGE - A list of all your blog entries is under the first sub-sub-menu with easy access to view or edit any of them. The other sub-sub-menus take you to list of your pages and your categories. Use this latter link to add and edit the categories you have associated with your blog. The final links have information on how to Export or Import a blog.
COMMENTS - Manage, view and make public any comments people have made to your blog.
BLOGROLL - You can see the permanent links to other sites which appear on the right-hand sidebar of your blog. We have added UKClimbing.com as a default but this can be removed or others added.
OPTIONS - This is very useful if you wish to change the public name of your blog - edit the top field here to do this. The URL will still contain your name as initially set up, but the name that appears on the web site pages will be your new choice. There are also many other options available like editing your tagline, whether or not your receive email notification of new comments, and how you go about deleting your blog in you don’t want it anymore.
